It is with sadness that I have decided to no longer offer athlonetownfc.com as the Official Website of Athlone Town Football Club.

I created Athlone Town Football Club Online as an unofficial entity seven years ago today, August 5th 2000. It has come a long way since, but it no longer reaches the standards that I set for it. Rather than let the site continue to deteriorate and die a slow death, I believe now is the time to bring it to an end.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time running this site, watching it grow from 200 hits in its first month, to averaging over 6,000 per month at its end and over 13,000 in March of this year, with visitors from across the entire globe.

The forum will remain open, and athlonetowntv.com will continue to bring you all the goals from Athlone Town's eircom League campaign.

Finally, I wish to thank everyone who contributed to the site over the years - managers, players, committee members, media and supporters alike.
